Landscape Architect/Designer Summer Internship

Location: Flanagan Landscape & Design located in Floyds Knobs, IN 

Description: Flanagan Landscape & Design specializes in high end residential landscape installations as well as production landscapes throughout the Southern Indiana and Louisville, KY area. We currently have an opening for a 2024 summer internship that is open to horticulture, landscape design and/or landscape architecture students.

Candidates must possess strong graphic design, technical and professional communication skills. Knowledge and a background of production using software such as Illustrator and Photoshop is preferred. When applying, please let us know if you have a project portfolio.

Intern will work directly with our senior designer.

We are seeking candidates that have taken coursework or have experience in:

​

• Hardscaping, grading and drainage

• Construction technical knowledge

• The ability to understand the needs of the client and design within those parameters and within their budget effectively and professionally

• Cost estimation

• The ability to manage their own projects while assisting the senior designer as necessary

• Must have a strong positive attitude, desire to learn and improve

• Strong interest in horticulture as well as knowledge of perennials, woody plants and their growth habits

Responsibilities:

• Candidate will be responsible for projects from initial client consultation through to job completion

• Meet with prospective and existing customers to estimate and sell maintenance and construction contracts

• Pro-actively contact customers including face to face contact in an effort to sell new accounts, projects, and enhancements

• Initiate proactive customer service and ensure customer satisfaction throughout projects, manage high-end client expectations
